One of the the nice benefits of the early days of the recession (words I didn't imagine I would ever write) was that we got really intentional about what companies we wanted to work with more - and which ones we were ready to, well, fire. I came to the conclusion that if things were going to be tough (and they were), then buying from folks who we really liked, and who made things that added value to the world was the right move. It felt a little scary at the time since that meant clearing out a few items that sold fairly well, but were being produced more and more irresponsibly. Would we find things that fit into lower price category but were made by good people, who cared enough to either make things themselves, or find really responsible ways to make them elsewhere? In short, yes. And now, two years after the worst of the downturn, I am sitting in the gallery surrounded by art and objects that I feel so proud to display and sell.
So, in celebration of that, we are going to feature some artwork by artists that license work with some of these great companies. First up, iPop! Currently in the gallery, we have work by these iPop artists: Susie Ghahremani, Danna Ray, Jennifer Judd-McGee, Ryan Berkley, Mati McDonough, and Amy Ruppel. The home page on the Enormous Tiny Art page is dedicated to those folks!
